Design and Photography of the chapter openers
for Dorling Kindersley's DIY Know-How Book

Given a topic, a budget and a deadline. I was asked to produce 9 chapter openers and a title page for an in-depth book on DIY for Dorling Kindersley.

    The majority of the job was in fact the prop buying and thinking how to sum up each of the chapters inernationally. No text was allowed in the photographs, and no UK-only objects could be used. So for subjects such as electricity, even plugs, switches and bare wires could not be used as they are not totally international.

    The job was completed by knocking back a panel to 70% to use as an area to overprint the wording.
