Ben at Bishop's Green Grocers wanted an e-commerce website, but without the funds, nor the time to update the site with products each day, I suggested a cut-down version that could be upgraded to e-commerce later, when staff and funds become available.
The deep blue and bright orange colour scheme is used throughout, including the shop sign and graphics. Avoiding obvious greens and browns, giving a wonderul combination of colours.
I suggested a page for visitors to add their details to the mailing list. With a monthly, prize-draw, to win a £25 fruit and veg basket.
The shop has quite a long history, so it's possible to find hidden details from the past; an old boared-up window, a fireplace, and even a old lift! Underneath the horrible suspended ceiling were old signs and letters which I hope to use in the new shop. I found lovely old baskets hidden on the top shelf and have used them to display the fruit and veg in the shots I took for the website. I cheated a little, by re-staging the displays to create a colourful, burgeoning look.
Outside, the shop sign has been replaced with my new design, matching the website. Inside, the industrial lights I found, are now installed. They look the part and were very cheap because they were actually meant for keeping piglets warm!
The final part of the project is to install my design for the van graphics, which will give Ben a full time moving advert.
