Website Design for Interior Designers in ChiswickSally Price, the owner of Insider Dealings in West London, had seen the interior design website I had designed for Mary Ensor. Sally asked me to design a similar website for her own interior design company. I was anxious that the two designs were nothing like each other, despite them being a very long way apart. The brief was even more tricky when Sally said she wanted her design to be very similar. My design solution uses a framework of 15 white boxes, each one holds either text, image or tint panel. Each of the 12 pages of the website uses the same tight grid system, sometimes joining two or more boxes to form larger shapes. It sounds very restricting, but actually produced a very flexible grid for the differently proportioned photographs. The two designs use a square grid system as briefed, but are completely different in final appearance. I took about half the shots on the website on location, or in the studio. The rest of the images were found by Insider Dealings from the image banks of their suppliers'. The logo design is a rework of their shop sign, designed to look more modern-classic. Using graceful type and letterspacing.
